You need to get your baby treated the moment you observe any such reactions in the early stages. Remove the diaper and allow free air circulation. It is not a good practice to keep your baby wrapped in diapers 24 hours a day. You need to allow free air circulation for at least 3 to 4 hours in a day.
Change the diapers everyday or twice a day depending on the volume of elimination by your baby. It is a good practice to expose your baby to early morning sunlight for about 3 to 4 minutes. Dry your baby skin before putting on new diapers.
Cradle cap
Cradle cap is another form of skin allergy which gets developed among babies. It could be due to excess of oil secretion from sebum. These types of cases are common when you or your spouse have oily skin. It can happen even otherwise also. Food allergy is another possible cause.
Most commonly it appears during the first three months of babyhood. A thick layer of dead skin may develop in the scalp region. You need to massage the area with vegetable oil and essential oil combination.
Take ½ teaspoon of essential oil, 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil (ex: – sunflower oil) and add few drops of Aloe Vera gel. Mix the ingredients well and apply on the affected skin areas. Massage gently and try not to scrub. Repeat the procedure twice a day until the skin conditions have improved. Add Vitamin B6 and zinc to your baby’s foods after consultation with the child specialist.
