Amazing Grass are an established company in the food supplement market, and therefore worthy of a detailed Green Superfood review to scrutinize the quality of their products.

Too many reviews found online focus on things aren’t important.

So here we are going to look at what is vital: understanding the ingredients and how they stack up alongside the claims made.

So how does Green Superfood stack up against comparable food supplement products, and is it worth your money to try?

What Is Amazing Grass Green Superfood?

Amazing Grass Green Superfood is a supplement that contains a range of powdered ingredients that are designed to deliver a concentrated nutrient hit.

This nutrient hit is full of antioxidants and probiotics, designed to strengthen the body’s immune system, aid digestion and promote a feeling of wellbeing.

The company who make it,  Amazing Grass, are well-established in the supplement market, some would say an industry leader.

They have a very strong product line to back this up.

The company was formed in 2002 by a pair of friends, and has been going strong ever since.

Their products are available from the main company website, and a range of online retailers.

So in terms of pedigree and distribution, things are looking good.

How Does Amazing Grass Green Superfood Work?

Amazing Grass Green Superfood drink

Amazing Grass Green Superfood is a powdered supplement.

You simply add it to water or another liquid and drink it.

Normally people add it to warm or cold water to form a thin liquid, but it can also be added to fruit juice or smoothies.

The ingredients are organic and designed to combine to produce a strong antioxidant effects in the body.

On top of that, it contains probiotics to aid your digestive system.

There is also added fiber, meaning that it is a well rounded supplement to drink.

However, it only has 30 calories per serving, and has no protein that will keep you full, so as a weight loss aid it is unsatisfactory.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood Ingredients

Amazing Grass Green Superfood contains a range of organic superfoods, foods that have some evidence to support them boosting functions in the body and protecting you.

The ingredients are split into different groups, or blends:

  • Green food blend
  • Antioxidant blend
  • Fiber blend
  • Digestive & active culture blend

Each of these blends contains a different range of concentrated ingredients designed to target and benefit a different function in the body.

Looking at the four blends together, the main active ingredients are:

  • Wheatgrass,
  • Barley grass
  • Spinach
  • Alfalfa
  • Spirulina
  • Broccoli
  • Pineapple
  • Carrots
  • Green tea extract
  • Rose hips
  • Flax seed

Although there is a wide range of ingredients that are linked to beneficial effects on the body, a lot of the ingredients in this supplement are quite general, and also in the quantities supplied (which is not specified, but at 30g per serving evidently not a huge amount) it’s questionable whether you would get enough of any single superfood to really benefit.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood Side Effects

Amazing Grass Green Superfood has general side effects links to a change in diet, as it is a concentrated hit of nutrients it can cause problems with:

  • Nausea
  • Upset stomach
  • Changes in bowel movement

On top of that, this supplement is pretty well known for tasting pretty awful. It doesn’t matter if you choose the original product, or the more recent flavors such as chocolate or sweet berry, feedback from people who try it is it tastes gritty and earthy.

Is Amazing Grass Green Superfood A Scam?

I think it’s fair to say that Amazing Grass Green Superfood blend is not a scam.

The company does not actually make any particular claims around health and wellbeing improvements on their website.

The only broad claim on the product page is that it will help you to start and finish the day feeling healthy.

There are no specific claims around weight loss or results.

I think the worst concern is the implication that this supplement will have great benefits.

But there are literally no scientific studies linked to this product, and the company themselves do not go into detail about benefits, or as we have said, even to tell you what the proportion of concentrated superfoods is actually in it.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood Reviews & Complaints

Amazing Grass Green Superfood reviews

As always, it’s good to look at independent review sites not linked to the product to see how people are reacting.

People are likely to be honest and not be faked to sell the product.

This supplement does get a lot of reviews, and unfortunately they seem to back up what we are saying here about how gritty and poor the taste is:

“I have consumed several other “Greens” in the past & thought I’d give this one a try, especially since it claimed to be an ‘improved’ formula & the price was reasonable. I can’t even finish it. I even tried mixing it with a smoothie. It is very finely milled, yet does not completely dissolve in water. There is always grit at the bottom of the glass. The flavor is terrible. I tastes like what I would imagine grass that cattle eat. Maybe a cow would enjoy this but as far as I’m concerned, not people. Other well-made greens have actually been soothing & refreshing to drink. I won’t purchase this particular brand again.”

Even advocates of this product mention the issue with the taste:

“I researched and compared at least a hundred green supplements over a period of several weeks and this was the very best I found. In terms of quality, ingredients, supplement spectrum, organic sources, and nutritional completeness, this is the winner. It is a little pricey, but the container lasts for 2 months if used daily. We use it in our morning super shake and it gives such a good feeling for so many hours! The taste is very clean, but can take some getting used to if you are new to green supplements.”

But there are lots of positive reviews which suggest the taste is not that bad.

There’s a reason this supplement has been around long time, and that’s its strong fan base:

“I really notice an energy boost with this! Usually with other products, I can’t really tell. Keeps me full longer and not craving so many snacks in the morning. Barely notice it in my smoothie with orange juice, strawberries and banana! Only that it turns it green! My husband looked at it and said ‘Yuck!’ I said ‘Just try it’ and he loved it! I got sick of the chocolate flavored one since it’s only good in a smoothie with a banana. With the original, I can add whatever flavors I want to make it taste good. It’s a little spendy for my budget, but I’m going to try to save for this! It’s worth it!”

Amazing Grass Green Superfood Prices & Where To Buy It

You can buy this supplement direct from the amazinggrass.com website.

At time of writing this review, a 30 serving container, giving you a month supply is a reasonable $29.99.

This improves if you buy more than one:

  • Buy 2 and save 5%
  • Buy 5 and save 10%
  • Buy 8 and save 20%
  • Buy 9 and save 25%

Does It Have a Moneyback Guarantee?

Amazing Grass offer a limited refund policy on this supplement. It is not an unlimited, risk-free refund however.

You can return the product unopened for a full refund within 30 days.

However, if you have opened the container they will not refund the money.

So although your consumer rights are protected, you can not try this product risk-free.

This does feel odd considering the company specifically state on their refunds page that they stand behind our products 100%. Evidently they don’t.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood Review: Final Verdict

Amazing Grass Green Superfood blend is available in several flavors and offers you a lot of reasonably priced options to get a concentrated hit of a hell of a lot of the key nutrients you need each day.

Overall, there are some good pros to using this supplement:

  • It is not expensive.
  • It contains a lot of recognized superfood ingredients.
  • It is widely available.
  • It has a long history and following.

However, for us there were too many cons to ignore and recommend this product:

  • It leaves a gritty residue.
  • It just doesn’t taste good.
  • The proportions of ingredients are unstated.
  • There is no evidence, independent or otherwise, related to this supplement.
  • Unlike competitors there is no risk free trial or moneyback offer.

So for us, Green Superfood blend is a maybe, if you can stand the taste and you are looking for a solid supplement at a reasonable price.

Yes it doesn”t dissolve completely in your drink, but, I don’t mind. Yes it has a “grassy” taste, but, what could we expect from the supplement that consist from herbs? It is should be this way. I am taking herbs and herbal supplements for many years, because I want to stay healthy, and the taste of them is not important to me. I accept a not pleasant taste like a taste of most medications that are not tasty. However, chemically produced medications are full of harmful side effects and develop extra health problems. Natural herbs treat you with natural ways that are more sutible for your body. Then, who will care about their taste if they are helpful? I am 60 years old, and do not take any pills except antibioticks when I need them, I do not have any chronic health problems. For many years following natural medicine I found that the additional of herbal organic supplements to our diet is amazingly helpful and nessessary. To me Grass Green Superfood is one of them, and I like its grassy taste.

Amazing Grass is delicious. Unsweetened unflavored almond milk blended in a blender like vita mix or magic bullet. No grits.

I found several post stating Amazing Greens has heavy metals in their products. As of 20019 , there was a class action lawsuit. Do you have any info regarding heavy metals in Amazing Greens.

I purchased this from Amazon. I mixed it with apple juice. The taste was fine but in an hour or less I experienced the following:

    Nausea
    Upset stomach
    Changes in bowel movement

The entire three. The last time I remember vomiting was when I was pregnant with my youngest child 60 years ago. I am hoping that Amazon will at least partially refund my money. I have been a customer of Amazon for 23 years. Never had any problem with them so far. I have gotten in touch with them but have not yet received a reply.
