There are lots of arthritis creams out there, and Blue Emu reviews seem to suggest that it could be the answer to relieving the symptoms.

There is no cure for arthritis, but some products do aim to help ease the pain. Unfortunately, because it mostly affects elderly people, these people can be especially vulnerable to bad marketing and outlandish claims.

Arthritis is such a serious and widespread condition, any product that claims to be able to tackle its symptoms and bring relief is going to be put under intense scrutiny and suffer from scathing reviews of it doesn’t live up to expectations.

So what’s the truth about Blue Emu arthritis cream? Do its active ingredients penetrate and ease the pain, or is it yet another niche health product that fails to deliver?

What Is Blue Emu Cream?

Original Blue Emu super-strength cream is a specialist formula of arthritis cream. It claims to relieve the symptoms of both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

It is a topical analgesic that contains both active ingredients and a carrier, emu oil, to help penetrate the skin and allow those active ingredients to work on relieving the joint pain caused by arthritis.

Blue Emu cream is made by a company called Nutrition & Fitness Inc, who have been producing Blue Emu and a number of related products since 1988.

How Does Blue Emu Work?

Blue Emu arthritis cream works by using emu oil as the carrier, to penetrate the skin and allow the transfer rates of the active ingredients to the areas of pain in the joints.

The active ingredients of Blue Emu cream are:

  • Emu oil (An Omega-rich carrier oil)
  • Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)
  • Stabilized Aloe Vera Gel
  • Glucosamine

MSM and glucosamine are associated with joint relief, and are used in other such products. Aloe vera is also use commonly to help with skin complaints, so put together, the emu oil can help to transfer these other ingredients to provide relief, mainly through reducing inflammation.

There is also scientific evidence that emu oil itself has skin healing properties, and anti-inflammatory properties. This is because it contains both linoleic acid, an omega 6 fatty acid, which have been found in scientific studies to help with healing skin conditions and underlying tissue problems.

In one study, there were two groups of people with skin and joint problems. One group was given emu oil for four weeks, the other a placebo. There was a noticeable reporting of relief in the group who were given emu oil.

Blue Emu Side Effects

The only reported side effects from using Blue Emu arthritis cream are general skin irritation problems.

These are reported rarely, and due to the number of ingredients are almost inevitable in some people with more sensitive skin.

But generally, Blue Emu cream has no reported major side-effects if it is used as directed, externally and topically.

Is Blue Emu Arthritis Cream A Scam?

Blue Emu arthritis cream is definitely not a scam. There is scientific evidence to back up that the active ingredients do work, however the concentration and nature of these ingredients combined do leave some question as to whether the product is that effective.

There may be a placebo effect in using this cream, and also the inclusion of aloe vera may simply soften the skin and make people feel like it is having a positive effect.

Blue Emu reviews

User reviews of Blue Emu arthritis cream are mixed, but more positive than negative. A typical negative comment on a major health site is:

“This product works for me. I have terrible arthritic hips. It’s not a cure but definitely helps control the pain.”

However, other positive comments do highlight the limited effect and that time span in which this product works:

“This product worked instantly on my arthritic hand BUT in five minutes the pain was back. I suppose we are to keep applying it? Every five minutes won’t work for me”

Concerning me, negative comments point to Blue Emu having no effect at all. This could be due to the seriousness of the condition, or the product not living up to elevated expectations, however typical comments to highlight the problem:

“I have a stiff and sore neck. I’ve tried many products and got no relief. I saw Blue Emu on the shelf and decided to try it. Doesn’t work for me. Guess I’ll keep on looking.”

“I purchased the blue Emu and applied it several times ans it has has no effect whatsoever on my arthritic knee. I am going to attempt to return for a refund.”

Generally, the cream is seen as a favorable purchase. There are positive reviews on most online shopping stores, including major ones such as Walmart and Amazon. You can’t discount this product as a ineffective when literally hundreds of thousands of people are saying that it is having a positive effect.

Blue Emu Price & Where To Buy

Blue Emu arthritis cream is widely available, including in major retail stores such as Walmart.

In the United States, a 12oz jar of this arthritis cream costs $26.88 in Walmart.

Other online retailers offer the product slightly cheaper, but you have to watch out for size differences. For example, Walgreens sell Blue Emu cheaper, but it is $15.99 for a 4oz jar, making it considerably more expensive.

You can of course buy direct from the company website, where a twin pack of 12oz Blue Emu arthritis cream is available in the online store for $53.99.

Is There A Blue Emu Guarantee?

Buying direct from the company website allows you a 90 day money back guarantee. All you have to do is return the product to get your money back.

Other company websites and retail outlets have their own return policies which are different to the one offered by Blue Emu. So you would be better advised to go to the main website if you are intending to buy online.

We have found no evidence that getting a refund for many outlet is difficult. This is a widely used and available product, and most retail outlets offer a standard refund policy on all the products.

Blue Emu Review: Conclusion

Blue Emu arthritis cream is widely used widely available. There is no doubt it has a positive effect on a wide range of arthritis sufferers.

However, it is debatable how long this relief lasts, probably due to how little of the active ingredients actually penetrates through to the joints, and whether this product is cost-effective in anything but the short term, for immediate relief.

In terms of the pros of using Blue Emu:

  • Is widely available.
  • A large number of people say it brings relief.
  • It is not particularly expensive if you are suffering from arthritis pain.
  • There is a money back guarantee almost universally available.
  • The individual ingredients are linked to joint pain relief in studies.

However the cons of using Blue Emu are:

  • The relief it brings can be incredibly short lived.
  • For some people it is not value for money in terms of the amount you have to use.
  • There are other more modern products with better formulations.

Blue Emu works. But they rose their price so much, that a doctors appointment for a prescription alternative is where I am at now. The people who make and sell Blue Emu are pigs when it comes to pricing. A 12 oz jar for $18.00 is where the price should be. Terrible how these companies suck the hard earned funds from people. Where is their compassion. I hate them for what they have done to the price and will make it my mission to let everyone know.

The wife bought this by mistake. It is not what I wanted, but I tried it anyway. Did not work.

Bought it at CVS and there is no guarantee unless you purchase it from the company direct.

So we are out $20. 🙁 I do not recommend this product!

I use Blue Emu for back and shoulder pain and find the results wonderful. In my case it takes away the pain. Its not a cure, the pain will return, but the relief it gives between applications is worth every penny it costs. Other creams i have tried do not give me the relief that Blue Emu does.

It seems to have helped my knee pain some. I am looking for a complete list of ingredients, not just the active ingredients. As others comment, the price is high and many older adults on fixed incomes can not afford it. My mecdicare supplement pays for it, so grateful for that.

I LOVE this product! The price IS high – and I never thought to check to see if my Medicare supplement pays for it. I tried so many products – but nothing works as good as this one.
