Vasayo is one of the many health & wellness MLM companies that has sprung up in recent years.

They offer a variety of products intended to help support general health.

One of the claims that makes this group a bit different than other similar brands is the way that they promote their supplements.

They say that most other vitamin supplements on the market aren’t properly absorbed.

That means that a lot of supplements that people take are simply wasted.

Speaking from a background of pharmacology and supplementation, I can say that there is some truth to this.

However, Vasayo also says that their products are 90% absorbed by the body.

I don’t have time to look at all their products and their ingredients, but this is a very loose claim to make.

Every ingredient in every supplement has a different bioavailability (the rate at which they are absorbed) and to say that all their products are 90% absorbed by the body is pretty hard to believe.

It is certainly possible to make supplements more bioavailable, and Vasayo claims that they use “advanced technology for superior bioavailability.”

I like to trust in people and organizations who are trying to do good for the world, but there isn’t a lot of evidence to support these claims.

The particular requirements for the later ranks are a bit much to explain here, but they follow a similar structure:

• Brand Partner (Rank 1) all you need to do is sign up as an affiliate with them.
• Executive Brand Partner (Rank 3) requires that you recruit 2 active affiliates and generate at least 800 GV (a group value that increases as people that you have recruited into the company sell stuff).
• Bronze (Rank 4) You must generate 80 PV (another value, Personal Value, that you will increase by selling things) while maintaining 2 active customers and 2 affiliates. You must also earn 3000 GV in lesser binary volume monthly.
• Diamond (Rank 11) you must achieve at least 240 PV a month while also having both six active customers and affiliates. Three of these must be ranked a Blue Sapphire or higher. You also will need to generate 30,000 GV in lesser binary a week.
• Triple Crown Blue Diamond is the final rank, and probably a good thing because it sounds like they were running out of names for ranks. You’ll need 320 PV a month, 6 active customers and 8 active affiliates ranked Diamond or more. You’ll need to make 150,000 GV on a weekly basis.

Other than that, you’ll be able to earn up to 20% commission on retail sales and a certain amount of commission off of your downline depending on your rank and their rank. You will get a bonus $50 if one of your download makes 500 PV.

Is Vasayo A Pyramid Scheme?

Most MLM business are pyramid schemes.

The difference is whether or not the company is run by people who care about their members or by those who don’t.

Vasayo seems to be a very fair company and its owner has worked in the MLM niche before.

Their compensation plan is fair, and you will have to work hard but you will be compensated fairly.

The pyramid scheme became a topic of controversy because it was discovered that it’s quite easy to take advantage of distributors or other members of the business by using this model.

For example, there isn’t a lot of evidence to prove that their Onguard oil can be useful for boosting immunity.

However, that’s not because they have been disproved.

It’s just because studies haven’t been done yet.

Folk medicine practitioners, like those of the Ayurvedic and Ancient Chinese Medicine systems, have been promoting alternative health practices like using essential oils for many years.

They are consistently being proved right.

Every MLM company has a different compensation plan.

That’s one of the reasons that they have such a bad rep.

Some MLM companies have laced up terrible compensation plans in nice wording and ended up ripping off their members.

Not every business does that, though.

DoTERRA has their own unique plan and you can look at it yourself.

One thing that’s great about DoTERRA is they offer their own little online ‘university’ in which members can get free information and articles about selling for them.

The coolest thing about them is their Fast Track bonus, which means you get 20% commission on anything someone you recruit sells for the first 60 days.

However you need to be making at least 100 PV (point value) on your own sales before this will happen.

Similar to other MLMs, the Point Value system is a bit out of balance.

You’ll get about half as many points as the dollar value of what you’re selling (a 10-dollar sale will get you just about 5 points.)

The other unique thing about them is their Power of 3 Incentive program.

This gives you more bonuses when you sponsor 3 people who join the company.

You then get more bonuses when they hire more people.

That’s the gist of it.

Of course, like any other MLM, you can level up by selling things.

Pyramid schemes aren’t inherently bad, it just takes time and practice to make money with them.

It’s also worth noting that you’ll pretty much never reach the ‘top of the pyramid’ and become the CEO of a company just from being a distributor.

Anything’s possible – but I’m assuming you’re not joining a MLM business in an effort to become a CEO.

It’s probably better to go to business school for that.

Just like with any company, there are a wide variety of customer opinions on DoTERRA.

Some people don’t like the way that the business structure is set up or have had bad experiences.

The most recent reviewer on the BBB Review Site said that Doterra “requires its customers to buy merchandise every month,” saying that if they don’t, “the account will be shut down.”

That makes sense, considering joining as a wholesale member is a special bonus and if you’re not going to keep buying things from them, why would they give you a 1-time bonus?

Unfortunately, for some people this just works out bad.

The same reviewer was “forced to close our account during a move” only because they “didn’t have an address to send to.”

That said, a lot of people have had totally awesome experiences.

The reviewer before that has “been using their products on and around my family for five years now.”

She believes that they are “incredible products” and fully supports their customer service.

She has “never been more satisfied with them.”

Rain: What Do They Sell?

Rain operates around the foundation of ‘seed nutrition,’ which means that they deal more with seeds than the actual whole fruits or vegetables.

There is some wisdom to this as a seed contains all the nutrients needed to grow an entire plant.

In many cases, seeds – once sprouted or ‘activated’ are the most nutritious part of a plant.

They are highly dense in antioxidants, phytonutrients, and other important compounds.

The products that they sell have cool, hip, trendy names like the SOUL line and CORE.

I’m not one for catchy marketing so this doesn’t really mean anything to me.

Aside from their main lines, they also sell varieties of coffee that are infused with the oil from various seeds.

They also have some seed-based skin care products that are actually pretty good for your skin.

As a bonus for those who are ethically-minded, all of the things that they sell are vegan, gluten-free and made without the use of GMOs.

The SOUL line is a nutritional supplement that’s intended to help rejuvenate and improve overall health.

It’s their flagship product so it makes sense that it’s the most popular.

It contains a variety of seeds that I know to be quite healthy, especially black cumin seed.

CORE

CORE is their runner-up product.

It’s a supplement that’s intended to help cleanse and detoxify the body through the power of seeds.

There are also some other ingredients like kale and milk thistle.

Apparently it works best when mixed with SOUL.

FORM

FORM is a highly concentrated protein supplement.

Like everything else they sell, they say that they work best together.

The 3 of these products together form their complete health system.

Does Rain Work?

One of the good things about Rain is that its products are endorsed by a doctor.

Bradford Weeks, M.D., is a fairly well-known online persona.

He is well qualified, he does online webinars, and he supports Rain and their products with his qualifications.

In fact, he has done several webinars on their products in particular.

The SOUL supplements have been covered by him on his own website.

That said, he isn’t the most clean-handed doctor on the face of the planet.

He’s been charged with misconduct more than once.

A lot more than once.

In fact at one point he got a 5-year suspension from practicing medicine and he almost had his license entirely revoked.

He’s known for prescribing the wrong drugs at the wrong time, misdiagnosing people, and just being sheisty in general.

So he’s not really one to trust.

If anything this is one of the few MLMs that sounds like it fits the bill of a ‘scheme.’

Some of their products have been tested by Brunswick Labs, an independent research unit, but still none of their products have been evaluated by the FDA.

And who knows what the nutritional lab is involved in – some companies have been known to hire sheisty labs to ‘validate’ products that they know are garbage.

That said, a lot of people have reported positive experiences using their products.

Rain offers people the chance to join their multi-level marketing business.

This means that you can put in time and hours to work for them.

You can work from home or go out and try to find people to buy things for you.

The main ways to make money from MLM businesses revolve around selling items to friends, family, and other people, or recruiting other members to the company so they can do the same.

More often than not the best way to make money is by recruiting members.

Why?

Most MLMs make sure that you meet a minimum quota every month to stay active.

And you earn money based on commission from everyone that you recruit.

So if you recruit a ton of people you’ll earn more and more commission, even just off of their minimum monthly contribution.

Not a bad way to make some residual income.

Unfortunately some of these businesses are vastly superior to others.

The first thing to know is that, if you want to remain active in the company, you’re going to need to meet the minimum PV (personal volume) of 50 points.

This is a way that companies tend to get people to autoship products for them.

In some cases this isn’t a problem – namely if you’re working hard and making money.

However, this is also part of the reason that people assume these companies are pyramid schemes.

That said, this particular brand isn’t very upfront about their business opportunity and they don’t make it easy to glean information from their own website.

First off, Rain is kind of sheisty in the sense that they make it really hard for you to find out exactly how much it costs to join.

• Business Builder package will cost you $249 and provide you with 1 business center.
• Professional Builder package will run you $599 and give you access to 3 business centers.

As far as I’m concerned, Rain is one of the more scheme-y MLMs out there.

A large part of this is because they’re not upfront about the prices you’ll need to pay to join.

This suggests that they’re more concerned about earning money than they are about their customers and employees.

That said, there are still a lot of people who make money with Rain and swear that it’s a good company.

Rain Reviews and Complaints

Despite what I think of the company itself, Rain products have some pretty solid reviews.

For example, their seed-based antioxidant products are rated more than 4 stars on Amazon.

The most recent reviewer said that “it is working for me.”

Despite their brutal symptoms of arthritis that stopped them from walking, they said that “using this 1 per day for two months I am able to walk comfortably.”

One person found that the product was quite effective but was dismayed to find that “each packet contains over a teaspoon of sugar.”

Maybe they should have read the ingredients before buying!

Another review of another product says that they “don’t know how it works, but it does.”

After taking the product in the morning it “makes me feel energized and ready for the day.”

Reviewers of their Immune Stimulator,  for example, say that it they “take it at the first stages of a bug and this wipes out any sickness.”

Another reviewer said that they “took it with  spleen activator from Nature’s Sunshine to help me clear  my immune  system.”

I feel that I should mention that the majority of positive reviews are all written with the same grammar and sound like they were written by the same person.

This suggests that perhaps Nature’s Sunshine is paying freelancers to write positive reviews about them. All their usernames are basic and fairly similar as well, so I personally wouldn’t trust the reviews.
