Facial treatments are aimed at enhancing an individual’s personality, appearance and beauty. Several techniques are used for extracting the accumulated dirt, oil and other pollutants from the skin layers. This is the cleaning phase of facial treatment.
Massaging is the next stage whereby the skin foundation is prepared for beautification process. It is followed by applying facial packs for energizing the skin layers and restoring the radiance, softness and strength.
The next stage is treating the skin to restore the moisture levels, repair skin damages, remove dead skin and protect the skin from external elements like heat, infections and aging factors.
The cycle of facial treatments may have to be repeated over a period of time before the desired results could be achieved. Using natural herbal ingredients can ensure complete skin safety while undergoing treatment.
You can opt for getting treated by skin and beauty care professionals or prepare your own ingredients at home and treat yourself.
Basics Of Facial Care Routine
The basic routine starts with the process of extracting dirt, oil and other pollutants from the skin layers. It can be done by preparing a gel from lemon syrup and honey mix. Apply it onto your facial skin uniformly and let it soak for about 15 minutes.
The antioxidant elements of lemon can seep into the skin layers and extract the pollutants effectively. Wash your face with cool water. Now you can feel the stickiness from your face go away.
Now you need to massage your skin to make it softer, tighter and healthy. Prepare a mix of Aloe vera gel, rose oil and honey (1 tablespoon each). Add 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder to prepare a fine paste.
Turmeric is a good antiseptic agent which can keep your skin away from infections and skin disorders. Rose oil helps in rejuvenating your skin layers while Aloe vera helps in restoration of skin texture.
Let the paste soak your facial skin for about 10 to 15 minutes before washing it with warm water. Dry your face and apply a natural moisturizer. It helps in overcoming the dry feeling created by turmeric.
What’s next? Prepare a facial emulsion by taking out milk cream and mixing it with sandalwood essential oil and honey in the ratio of 1:1:0.5. Apply this emulsion all over your facial skin. Within a few minutes it forms a pack. Let this pack soak your skin for about 20 minutes. Then you can wash it off with warm water.
Once this routine is completed your skin experiences a natural feeling of freshness and lightness. This is the preliminary stage of facial care which needs to be followed for a couple of weeks. By the end of treatment your skin will be prepared for further sessions.
Facial Bath Salts
This is the stage wherein your facial skin needs energizing. Take one cup of Epson salt and ½ cup of sea salt in a bowl. Add 10 drops of peppermint oil, 5 drops of rosemary oil and 5 drops of eucalyptus oil.
Stir well so they get mixed well. You can add this mix to hot running water and give a bath to your facial skin. It removes all the finer dirt and dead skin from your facial skin surface. Repeat this procedure for about a week to get refreshed face.
Facial Massage
Now your facial skin needs complete massaging. Take ½ teaspoon of coconut oil, ½ teaspoon of rosemary oil and 1 teaspoon of honey. Prepare a fine mix and heat it to low temperature (warm). Take a piece of cotton and apply it all over your facial skin.
Massage gently in clockwise direction for about 2 minutes. Take a tissue paper and gently scrub your facial skin. You will be surprised to see the colour of tissue paper changing. It is a sign of dead skin layers being peeled off naturally.
Repeat the above cycles of procedure for a couple of weeks. By the end of treatment your facial skin would have enhanced its brightness, suppleness and tightness.
Facial Care Steps
The above specified procedures need to be followed in steps. The next stage is to treat your skin for the moisture levels, repair skin damages and protect the skin from external elements like heat, infections and aging factors.
Take one tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel and mix it with the inner layer of banana peel extract (One banana). Add two tablespoons of yogurt and one tablespoon of honey. Mash well to prepare a paste.
