Multi-level marketing companies, as they’re also known, are becoming so popular that it’s hard to keep track of them all.
Since this type of business has such a bad name, it’s important to sort out the bad ones from the good ones.
Today we’re going to give you an open and honest review about Omnilife, one of the many MLM brands.
I don’t work for them so this is a non-biased review.

What Is Omnilife?
The first thing that many people note about Omnilife is that it’s headquartered in Guadalajara, which is in Mexico.
This is interesting because the majority of these companies are run out of the United States.
If not they’re then they’re usually found in Europe or Canada.
Another interesting thing about this company is that the owner wasn’t a business executive.
They didn’t own another brand.
They didn’t work for a MLM themselves.
They worked as a taco vendor on the streets of Mexico, and then smuggled thousands of dollars of Herbalife products across the border.
Following this, he became a billionaire CEO and producer of movies.
This certainly says a lot about the company.
Can the CEO be trusted?
Does he have good business ethics?
If you’ve ever seen someone selling tacos on the streets of Mexico, then you’re well aware of the knack for business that it takes.
But that doesn’t mean that they’re ethical.
And smuggling products over the border suggests something else.
Still, the business can be an alright way to earn money.
However there are certainly more lucrative MLM products.
Omnilife: What Do They Sell?
Omnilife has 4 different categories of nutritional products.
- Hydrating – drinks and drink mixes.
- Custom – things that you can use to spark up your own specific diet plan.
- Energy – for helping you get that extra spark to get you through your day.
- Light nutrition – for those who think that Mexican street tacos pack too many calories and want to manage their weight.
Their products are intended to help people achieve a better state of overall health.
Depending on what you buy, there are a number of benefits that you can hope to experience. These include:
- Enhanced energy and endurance.
- Increased metabolism and ability to burn fat.
- Improved mood or better ability to maintain a stable mood.
- Better ability to hydrate through improved levels of electrolytes.
Omnilife Most Popular Products
Some Omnilife products are much more popular than others.
Whether this is because of their marketing or because they’re genuinely better products is unsure.
Here is the top list.
It’s a product which is intended to help manage your circulatory system.
It’s got a lot of vitamin E which helps to fight cholesterol.
This is great because it could help balance the risks of the excessive caffeine in many Omnilife products.
It’s a drink that’s a mix of coconut and pineapple extracts.
Coconut water is incredibly healthy on its own so I’m not sure why this one’s so popular.
Dolce Vita tablets
They are grapefruit flavored tablets that are loaded with fiber an Gymnema to help you keep your bowels healthy and improve your overall health.
Dual C Mix
It is arguably their most popular product and it’s just a huge amount of vitamin C.
It’s citrus flavored – as a vitamin C product should be – and has great reviews.
Does Omnilife Work?
A lot of their products make use of caffeine or other stimulants like synephrine.
This is probably the main reason that they are considered somewhat effective for helping people lose weight.
There aren’t any clinical studies that have proven any of the claims that the company makes on their products.
In many senses, this is a bit of a red flag.
A company should have solid scientific evidence backing up anything that they’re saying about their products.
Since the products aren’t FDA approved, they could actually cause adverse effects.
That said, they do include a number of ingredients that have been proven to help in the areas that Omnilife promises them to.
Their various products are intended to provide physical health benefits, mental health improvements, and therapeutic value.
However, attempting to improve your health with products that aren’t validated by the FDA is risky business.
Your best bet is to read some more reviews and do your own research on the ingredients listed in any product that you’re hoping to buy.
Also, two fo the ingredients in many of their products – synephrine and caffeine – can cause problems in sensitive people.
On their own, they can cause increases in blood pressure and heart rate.
When mixed together, the chance of developing negative side effects increase significantly.
Some countries have even declared Omnilife products unsafe because of this combination.
They can’t be sold in Sweden or Denmark, which are known for being two of the healthiest countries.
Omnilife MLM Business Opportunity
Omnilife operates as a MLM business structure.
This means that you can join the company as a distributor and sell products for them to earn money, bonuses and discounts.
You’ll also be able to recruit new members to do the same thing. Generally you earn the most money off of these people, which are known as your downline.
MLM companies have caught a lot of flack.
They’re generally considered to be scams or pyramid schemes by people who are uneducated on the topic.
Omnilife certainly isn’t the best MLM out there, but it’s not the word either.
The only thing that really sets these brands apart is their compensation plans, which vary greatly between different businesses.
Omnilife: The Compensation Plan
To take part in Omnilife you’re going to have to buy your distributors kit.
This is quite common among many MLM companies. Fortunately Omnilife kit is reasonably priced at only $39.
In the kit you get some supplements, some promotional DVDs to help you understand the company, a training manual and a backpack to carry everything in.
You’ll need to buy at least 300 PP (personal points) of products every month.
This is alright because even if you don’t make money you can still get products you need at discount price.
Your commission depends on how much stuff you sell in a single month. It starts at 20% – which is really good for MLMs – and can go up to 50%, which is actually great.
You will get different commission depending on your personal points.
- 0-999 PP will give you 20% commission
- 1000-1999 PP will give you 25% commission
- 2000-2999 PP will give you 30% commission
- 3000-3499 PP will give you 35% commission
- 3500-3999 PP will give you 40% commission
- Any more than 4000 PP will give you 50% commission
You will also be given a quick start bonus of 10% of your recruits and their purchases within their first 90 days of Omnilife.
You also get a bonus on commission on your downline – the people that you recruit – depending on your rank.
For example, Bronze Premiere level distributors earn 5% commission on their level 1, or first-generation recruits.
Bronze Supreme members will earn 9% on their first-gen recruits and 5% on their level 2.
This continues on. Silver Supreme members, for example, earn 10% on level 1 members, 8% on level 2, and 4% on level 3.
Is Omnilife A Pyramid Scheme?
A pyramid scheme is nothing new.
Unfortunately most MLM businesses have been given the label of pyramid scheme as if it were a bad thing.
The reality is that a pyramid structure applies to pretty much every business that we deal with on a regular basis.
Think about it. The CEO sits at the top and earns the most money.
Everyone else in the company supports the CEO and helps them earn money.
If that doesn’t sound like a scheme then I don’t know what does.
The cool thing about MLMs is that you don’t join the company hoping to become a CEO.
You know exactly where you stand and how much money you can earn.
You don’t go into an opportunity like this hoping to one day become the CEO because it just won’t happen. However a lot of businesses of this type were set up by people who were once distributors.
Omnilife Reviews and Complaints
There are a fair number of reviews about Omnilife, but certainly not nearly as many as there are for some companies.
That said, the majority of their products that are available online feature solid reviews.
Their Magnus supreme holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5, however there are only a handful of reviews.
The first reviewer said that “the stuff works it gives a lot of energy to workout(s)” and ensures us that they “will be ordering again.”
Another member says that they have “been taking this for over 10 years now.”
They worked as a distributor but ran out of product so they bought more on Amazon.
They didn’t want to stop using it because it “helps me get energy to work out and helps with colds.”
There are not a lot of reviews regarding the company itself, though.
In fact, there are none on the Better Business Bureau.
This is interesting because pretty much every other MLM business has a score of reviews on the BBB.
Another recent product reviewer said that they buy the stuff from their neighbor. She gets it for her husband because “he works 10 hour days.”
The stuff works and gives him energy but “doesn’t give him a crash,” and they like the fact that it’s “not full of sugar.”
Omnilife Prices & Where to Buy
The products sold by Omnilife aren’t cheap compared to other brands.
For example, if you want to stick with a nutritional or a weight loss plan for a single month, you’re going to be spending upwards of $200.
While Omnilife does function as a MLM, there are tons of places that you can find their products.
Their site, first off, is the best place to get them. You will get a good deal if you sign up as distributor.
However you’ll have to keep buying products every month to remain a distributor.
You can also find their products for sale on sites like Amazon or eBay.
The prices are quite comparable on these sites. For example:
- Omnilife Cafezzino Plus! will run you $29.25 for a box, which is almost the same as you would get it from their site.
- Omnilife Magnus will cost $29 for 30 servings
- Omnilife Plus Naranja will cost you $53.94 which is a pretty good deal
Omnilife Money Back Guarantee
I couldn’t find any information from Omnilife themselves about their money back guarantee..
That aid, if you buy their products on Amazon or eBay, these sites offer money-back guarantees.
You will be able to receive a refund if you go through these sites.
Omnilife Pros & Cons
It’s a good idea to know the pros and cons of any website or business before you dedicate your time and money to them.
Omnilife Review: Final Verdict
It’s hard to tell whether or not Omnilife is a totally legit company.
Reviews online are scarce, but the reviews that there are seem to be quite positive.
However, the fact that there are so few reviews, coupled with the fact that the owner of the business is an ex-criminal, is a bit suspicious.
However, the owner is widely revered in Mexico for being a great businessman.
People who work for Omnilife – and who understand the business mechanism – seem to enjoy it and don’t want to stop.
If you think this is the right opportunity for you, then try out your luck!
