Ayurveda Skin Care Oils
Sandalwood oil
Sandalwood oil is highly used for lightening skin. It is used for pimple removal, itchiness healing, and whitening of skin as well as for enhancing skin glow. You can prepare simple yet strong recipe with sandalwood oil as follows.
- 1 cup of sandalwood oil
- ½ cup of turmeric powder
- 3teaspoons of honey
- 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel
Put it in a bowl and mix well. Heat the ingredients to moderate temperature and stir well for the ingredients to mix. Cool it to lukewarm temperature and apply all your skin from head to toe as a thin coat. You can also get a massage with this recipe.
Let the ingredients soak your skin for about 45 minutes and then shower. Use Shikakai powder mixed in water instead of soap to take off the stickiness on skin.
You need to repeat this procedure once in a week in order to enhance the skin glow and beauty. You will be able to experience visible changes in your skin texture, strength, tightness and elasticity, lightness and clean pores.
Turmeric
Using turmeric oil alone with Aloe Vera liquid can help in solving many of skin related disorders and restoring glowing skin within weeks.
- 1 cup of turmeric powder
- ½ cup of Aloe Vera liquid
- add ½ cup of glycerine or honey if you wish to enhance the miniaturization property
Mix well and apply on your facial skin, hands, legs and feet. Let the liquid soak your skin for about 1 hour. Then you can wash with warm water.
Sesame oil
Sesame oil is highly useful in enhancing skin immunity, providing brightness, enhancing protection against UV radiation as well as many common skin infections from bacteria.
- 1 cup of sesame oil
- ½ cup of olive oil
- ½ cup of Aloe Vera liquid
Mix well and start massaging your hands, feet, legs, thighs, chest and neck with it. Let the ingredients soak your skin for about 30 minutes and then wash with warm water. Use Shikakai powder or Shikakai based herbal soap to remove the oil content and stickiness.
Neem oil
Neem oil is highly useful in preventing oxidation of your skin layers from free radicals. It hydrates your skin and eliminates dryness. Carotenoids in the oil help in rebuilding of skin cells and tissues damaged due to UV radiation.
When your skin gets burnt from excess sun, it is a recommended practice to apply Neem oil on the affected skin areas. Neem oil capsules and other forms of supplements can help in keeping your skin free from infections and allergic reactions during summer and humid climatic conditions.
You could prepare a simple skin liquid recipe with Neem oil as follows.
- 1 of Neem oil
- 1 cup of turmeric oil
- 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons of olive oil
- 3 teaspoons of honey
- 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel
Put it in a bowl and mix well. Heat the ingredients to moderate temperature and stir well for the ingredients to mix. Cool it to lukewarm temperature and apply all your skin areas which get frequently exposed to sun’s UV radiation.
Let the ingredients soak your skin for about 30 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water. Avoid soap or other synthetic products while washing. Instead you can use Shikakai powder mixed in water to remove the stickiness on skin.
You need to repeat this procedure once in a week in order to enhance the skin brightness and glow. Your skin gets a visible lift in texture, tone, tensile strength, tightness and elasticity. This recipe is also helpful in protecting your skin from many common skin allergies and infections.
Simple Ayurveda Skin Care Recipes
Skin Cleansing
- 1 cup of lemon juice
- 1 cup of apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of honey
- 2 teaspoons of castor oil
- 3 teaspoons of eucalyptus oil
- 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel
Put in a bowl and mix well. Keep the ingredients and heat in an oven evenly for about 2 to 3 minutes. Take out and stir well for the ingredients to mix. Cool it to lukewarm temperature and apply all your skin areas.
Let the ingredients soak your skin for about 30 minutes. Take a tissue paper and scrub gently on your skin. The scrubbing process has to be really slow and mild. You could take about 15 to 20 minutes for scrubbing. At the end, wash with lukewarm water.
Avoid soap or other synthetic products while washing. Instead you can use Shikakai powder mixed in water to remove the stickiness on skin.
Now your skin becomes free of not only dirt and other impurities, but also from many toxic elements which get deposited in the internal layers of your skin due to toxic elements in the internal organs that are linked with your skin.
Skin nourishing
- 1/22 cup of almond oil
- ½ cup of coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons of honey
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Mix well and apply on your skin cracks in heels and other areas affected by roughness. Massage till the ingredients seep deeper. Let it soak your skin overnight.
This procedure will help your skin peeling off dry layers and cover skin cracks over a period of time.
